Update: Prep Time!

So, turns out Iceland is on strike, there was just an earthquake near Reykjavik, it has been the coldest May on record for the last 30 years.

It's OK, though; the 10-day forecast looks like perfect 'hike-all-day--in-the-rain-then-sleep-in-a-tiny-tent-while-carrying-20-kilos-of-gear' weather:

Nonetheless, Chris (miss Cabie) has been doing mad prep while I wrap up the school year. She has been dehydrating like a fiend, the house is mostly packed, and she even found time to save (or maybe orphanate [yeah, I just made up a word]) a bunch of baby California Towhee bird eggs whose parents had taken up residence in the basket of her bicycle.
